How To Write Argumentative Paper
Here are the four steps you can follow to write a compelling argumentative essay introduction: Start with an attention-grabbing hook statement. Outline the main subject of your essay. Present some background information that is necessary.
Set the context –provide general information about the main idea, explaining the situation so the reader can make sense of the topic and the claims you make and support State why the main idea is important –tell the reader why he or she should care and keep reading.
In the first paragraph of an argument essay, students should set the context by reviewing the topic in a general way. Next the author should explain why the topic is important ( exigence) or why readers should care about the issue. Lastly, students should present the thesis statement.
Improve your paper by including plenty of concrete evidence such as statistical data and established facts. Cite empirical findings from peer-reviewed studies as well as opinions from experts in the field. #3 Employs sound reasoning. Unlike a persuasive essay that appeals to emotion, an argumentative paper must appeal to logic.
